Our Adopted Horses

ADOPTED! Leo is an approximately 10 year old QH cross pony gelding that was relinquished at a local animal shelter along with his friend Leroy.  Leo is approximately 14 hh and just a wonderful boy, does not care about hardly anything, trailers well, stands well for the farrier, and LOVES being brushed. His suitability will be determined once he has gained some weight and it is safe to ride him. They both are new additions to the rescue and have a good deal of nutrition and proper dewormings to get under their belt until they can be considered for adoptive homes. ***Update***Leo is doing very well and is gaining weight and losing that distended wormy belly! With more information that we have been told, he is actually a child's show pony and he does LOVE children. He will have a rider weight restriction of 120 pounds once he has been fully rehabilitated. Leo is now ready for adoption, he would be a great Walk/Trot Lesson pony, he does great in any situation. Needs work at the canter, but nothing that an experienced owner/trainer couldn't work through. Just hasn't had to do it in a while. Can't say enough great stuff about this guy!  Adoption Fee: $600.
ADOPTED! Abe is an 8 year old Draft-cross Mule, who stands at nearly 16 hh. Abe was pulled from an auction from slaughter buyers, he is broke to ride. He needs to have a quiet person in his life that understands his initial nervousness due to being severely beaten previously. Abe is much more comfortable around women and especially children than men. Still undergoing some "mental rehabilitation" and learning that not all men are going to be mean to him. Adoption fee: $800
ADOPTED! Kodi is a 17 year old TB gelding approx. 15.2 hh, who needs a very calm and relaxed rider. He has been abused in the past by riders/trainers who tried to make him a show horse, he is in no sense a show horse. He wants to just ride around, he is a very sweet boy and is in your pocket all the time. He came to us as an owner surrender, pretty skinny but other than that he does not have any health concerns. He stands great for the farrier and is a great boy! Adoption fee: $400
